Rachel Brathen, Yoga Girl®, pioneered the practice of yoga on a Stand-up Paddle Board after watching her husband and dog riding together on a surfboard. If they can balance together on a surfboard, it is possible to practice yoga on the water, too! Soon after, Rachel started teaching SUP Yoga on the caribbean island of Aruba. In collaboration with dear friends and impassioned experts – Jessica Taylor, yoga teacher and WPA Instructor and Ryan Taylor, WPA Instructor Trainer, PaddleFit Instructor, and ACA Coastal Kayak Instructor, have made Island Yoga the training hub for SUP Yoga.
For those who have completed a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training and have been teaching for a minimum of one year, Island Yoga’s SUP Yoga Teacher Training and WPA Certification, guided by Jessica and Ryan Taylor, will broaden and strengthen your confidence on the water. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, in its many disciplines, has quickly evolved into a unique, enlivening and blissful form of yoga. It is the perfect addition for aspiring yogis who want to take their practice on the water.
This 4-day immersion will present you with the tools to comfortably guide your students on the water. Island Yoga SUP Training Program not only includes how to creatively and safely modify your SUP Yoga practice, but you will also become a Level 1 Certified WPA (World Paddle Association) Instructor.
Learn to teach SUP Yoga where it all began – in Caribbean paradise!
